Gordon, Dan. "Wow! 3D Content Awakens the Classroom -- THE Journal." THE Journal: Technological Horizons in Education -- THE Journal. N.p., n.d. Web. 5 Oct. 2010. http://thejournal.com/articles/2010/10/01/wow-3d-content-awakens-the-classroom.aspx.

I chose this article dealing with learning in 3D because I thought it would be interesting. There are many ways that this form of learning would help the students. As the article talks about, students that may struggle with a language barrier can see things in a different way that they may be able to understand. Overall it allows the students to focus and see things from a new perspective. It helps see shapes and understand them being able to see all the way around them from different angles. This idea came about after Texas Instruments realized how children run and are excited to see the 3D movies such as Avatar. It makes learning fun and even the disruptive chidren in a classroom become more engaged. I think it is a great idea to introduce to more schools.
Demski, Jennifer. "How Music Teachers Got Their Groove Back Music Instruction Goes Digital -- THE Journal." THE Journal: Technological Horizons in Education -- THE Journal. N.p., n.d. Web. 6 Oct. 2010. http://thejournal.com/Articles/2010/10/01/How-Music-Teachers-Got-Their-Groove-Back-Music-Instruction-Goes-Digital.aspx?Page=1.
I chose this article because it's in my major. The article is about a music teacher named Carol Broos who is trying to change the role of how music classes are taught. 80 percent of highschool students are not involved in music classes. Broos says that the teacher should evaluate the way they are teaching. Broos suggests that adding technology in the music classes is the strongest way to get students involved with music. She goes on to say that students are always using technology, from Ipods to music sites. She incorporates things like midi which is a keyboard that plays the music on the computer into sheet music and records it.There were many other technologies she used in her class. They conducted a study and teachers who had incorporated these elements in the classroom went on to college and 30-35% more went for music. I think if it's effective it's a great idea, because they are cutting a lot of music programs in schools because lack of interest and funds, so if they got the students more involved with music, less programs would be cut.

Cox, L. A. (2010, August 25). Enticing Teachers To Try Technology -- THE Journal. THE Journal: Technological Horizons in Education -- THE Journal. Retrieved October 6, 2010, from http://thejournal.com/articles/2010/08/25/enticing-teachers-to-try-technology.aspx?admgarea=pre

I chose this article because it looked like it would be interesting. I know my practicum teacher as well as a few professors sometimes complain about the technology in their rooms. This article is about getting teachers to integrate technology into their classroom. Their proposal is that if you equip the teachers with the technology, then they will use it. This article talks about the Educational Technology through Integration and Collaboration (ENTIC) program that was created in 2007. Through this program teachers can apply to become participants only after they work out a budget for the following year and explain how they intend to use the requested equipment in their rooms. This article contains the list all the requirements the teacher is agreeing to in a two-year contract to be completed in the first year of being accepted into the program and to me it looks like a lot of work, but in the long run it is probably worth it. According to the table in the article there has been more of a good outcome of the program than a bad one. A Sobering Survey - THE Journal. THE Journal: Technological Horizons in Education- THE Journal. Retrieved October, 9th, 2010, from http://thejournal.com/articles/2010/06/01/a-sobering-survey.aspxI chose this article because the title seemed interesting and I wanted to know what it was about. I found it interesting to see that when taking a survey, some teachers used only techology such as word processing. The students of today's age are surpassing that. They are living in a world full of more technology then what we had. We need to up our ante and make sure that when we as teachers go out into the workforce, us more than just word processing because it's important for our students to learn more about different and other technologies.
