I chose this article because the title stuck out to me as something I can relate to. Flash drives are a convenient way of transporting information from one computer to another; however I myself have lost them. Fortunately I have not had confidential information on them, however what if the President of the United States were to lose his flash-drive? This article talks about different ways to secure your flash-drive in case of theft or loss. The author gives examples of many different ways to protect them, however they all have strong disadvantages. Unfortunately the author does not give one fool proof way to protect your flash-drive. I think that one suggestion they could make would be to use online tools such as drop-box to transport information or maybe encourage manufacturers to create flash drives that have extra security settings on them.

http://www.techlearning.com/article/25534I choose the article "Getting Easier to go Green". I thought it was a readlly interesting article. Many people including schools are very concerenced with saving money and going green. This article had some really great statistics about how much energy and money schools are spending in regards to technology. It was very interesting the schools are putting 25% of energy coasts into technology, and statistics of how much carbon dioxide they are emiting. This article discusses the relationship between school media and Didaskaleinophobia, which is referred to as school phobia. This disorder affects 1.4 million American adolescents. They believe that social media is good for these types of students. They do not believe it is just making them lazier. They think that these people who may have school phobia, will be able to access school resources easier through media use. Another thing they bring up which would benefit these students is the socialization aspect. Places like Facebook are good for these children to socialize.

I chose this article because Facebook is so common in each of our lives. It is not only popular among college level students, but now more and more adults have Facebook along with businesses and organizations. I also chose this article because I thought it was extremely interesting that Facebook was used in the classroom, and especially a first grade classroom.

This first grade teacher used it as a connection tool for the families. It was a way to keep the parents connected to what was going on in the classroom. She posted pictures of the students, shared events and announcements, and posted work of the kids to show their work.
Generally I thought this was pretty cool, and the way she talked in her article it sounded pretty successful. My only concern is the privacy issue and what if some of the parents do not have access to Facebook, then what happens? Overall, I thought it was a pretty interesting article.

This article discusses how the use of social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter can help students who suffer from anxiety in the classroom. Approximately 1.4 million students are affected by this type of disorder. Allowing students to use social media for questions and comments helps to alleviate some of the anxious feelings students may have. I think that this would tie in to the activity we did earlier this semester where we used our cell phones to respond to questions posed by the instructor.
